Back finally .. hope to write something
Today after a long lonnnnnngggg time Sid reminded me of this blog i created.. so i thought might be i will just put down something here. Give me some moe time and i will get back to all of you whoever has the patience to read this :)
New Year Bash and New Year Crash
This new year was almost the usual for me except that this time i was trying my hands on the wine rather than just sitting around the couch and watching the non-existant programs on the idiot box. The idiot box alwyas has a sort of surprise element attached to it where you are in the hope that something good might show up and then you keep waiting and waiting and the clock stucks 12 and there is a small message on the screen HAPPY NEW YEAR and that's it.
Yes there was one more thing i forgot to mention 'bout the wine. Now what would you do if you have the wine bottle in your hand and you don't have the opener for it. Now that was the question we were stuck with for almost an hour at a time when everyone out there were
enjoying there glass of wine. We tried every possible ounce of grey matter but we couldn't figure out how to pull the cork ...there were ideas floating like we should all gather around and just keep our mounths open and one person will break the bottle and the rest will catch as much as they can. Finally the bottle took control our senses and we just pushed the cork inside rather than pulling it outside. Though the wine was essenced with the taste of cork we enjoyed every bit of it. And learnt the lesson ....You should always have a swiss knife with you:)
Now 'bout the second topic of the blog the new year crash. One of my friends had a serious accident while going to Nandi Hills( a picinic spot some 30kms from B'lore) along with few other friends. The bike crashed on the divider at the speed of 90KMPH and this guy was flown of the bike some 100-200 mts from the bike and landed on his face on the road. Luckily the hospital was nearby and these guys got hold of the ambulance and brought him to another hospital which has better facilites and doctors compared to the first one. He has been operated once on the face and he needs another operation before he is able to even talk properly. Lukily by god's grace his life was saved. Now these kind of incidents rock u'r soul hard. You feel why him and then you try to figure out the reasons for the same. People try to hide the negligence on there part and try to blame it on something which is not under there control. But the price for the negligence is so huge that you can't make it out with just lame excuses. I just hope that this guy needn't go through any more pain and recovers as soon as possible and as i know him he is a great fighter and so he definetly will.
Anyway happy new year to all the readers and sorry for the delay in posting. Next posting will be regarding some new year resolutions so keep watching.
Blogging ....naaahhh not my cup of tea
This was what i thought 'bout blogging previously but now since i have started it , it seems fun. Earlier i was very adamant 'bout sharing my personal life with anyone but now it seems why not...it gives u a great platform to share u'r views on topics of u'r choice. I will try to keep this updated as much as i can.
Down the memory lane
I just read the postings on deepanjan's blog regarding his dad. There was a comment on it asking him whether he misses his dad the same way as he did 1 year back. This makes me wonder whether i miss my dad too. It has been 17 yrs since i lost him but the event seems like just yesterday. Life tries to make u forget the past but then there are times when it tries to make u remember the past. Though the memories of old days seems to be fading but there remains a black hole in u'r heart which keeps u reminding of the emptiness there.
Everybody says he is out there somewhere keeping a watch on us but there are times when u feel that why is he there and not beside me. Someone once said to me that god needed him more than us .....it seems god was also greedy of luv that he spread all around.
Anyway life goes on and on and we keep the light of his love burning in out heart and whatever happens 17 yrs or ..50 yrs it doesn't matter the light will still remain in our heart.
Travel plans....never plan it
Today we found out how bad can the plans fail.....my brother had booked ticket in one of the leading airlines of india and here is it's story. He had to travel from Bangalore to Ranchi ( Jharkhand just for reference). The flight was scheduled from Bangalore to Calcutta at 3:30 pm. It took off at 10:30pm for no reason whatso ever. Hence he missed the connecting train for Ranchi. Now he took a flight ticket in the same airlines for Ranchi the next morning. The flight took off at 7:00 am the next morning and for whole night he had to wait in the waiting lounge as he couldn't get the booking at the dormitory at such a short notice. Now this flight flew to Ranchi and came back as it couldn't land because of fog. Ok so now what does he do. He gets the refund and books another ticket for the same airlines at 4:00 pm. Now the 4:00pm flight gets cancelled for some technical snag. Cool what kind of flights do these people have. Do the airlines do anything 'bout it. Nope they just refund the money. Wow what a great system they have. Finally he tries a train booking which he doesn't get and then finally somehow he gets a bus ticket and boards the bus at 7:00pm in the evening.
So the trip had been planned more than one month in advance and the result is an entertaing trip till the end. So whatever plans u make ..make sure u plan for the worst case scenario giving the airlines ample of time to play around with.
Code Olympics
We have a coding competion tommorrow which is an overnight affair where u get 24 hrs to implement u'r idea ...i thought i was ok at writing code but when the word competition comes in it bombs me heavily leaving me stranded looking for some sort of relief at the deserted office. Hope we can present atleast something at the final presentation but .. the main motive will definetly get fulfilled ...getting a t-shirt having Code Olympics stamped on it ...so that we can boast around that we had participated. Only thing is i won't get any sleep tommorrow.
